Elizabeth, NJ Florist

Elizabeth is the county seat of Union County, New Jersey and the state's fourth most populous city with a population of 124,969. Originally called "Elizabethtown," the city was founded in 1664 by English settlers. Although many people assume the town was named for Queen Elizabeth, it was actually named to honor the wife of Sir George Carteret, one of the two original Proprietors of the colony of New Jersey. Since World War II, Elizabeth has seen its transportation facilities grow; the Port Newark-Elizabeth Marine Terminal is one of the busiest ports in the world, as is Newark Liberty International Airport, parts of which are actually in Elizabeth. Together with Linden, Elizabeth is home to the Bayway Refinery, a Phillips 66 refining facility that produces approximately 230,000 barrels per day. The city is the focal point of Elizabeth native Judy Blume's 2015 novel In the Unlikely Event, the backdrop for which was the crash of three commercial airliners in Elizabeth that took place within a period of two months in late 1951 and early 1952. Princeton University was founded in 1746 in Elizabeth as the College of New Jersey. Donato Florist is your one-stop-shop in Elizabeth for birthday flowers, anniversary flowers, and seasonal bouquets.
